Day 01 Pyay

Your adventure will start as soon as the RV Makara Queen set sail from Bagan. Take time and get used to the cruise, and do not hesitate to ask the friendly staffs about your concerns. After checking in the cabins, a nice welcome drink will be available on the Sundeck for passengers in order to have an overview of the River. Then, you will have a chance to learn about longyi, Burmese traditional clothes like a sarong, and the unique Myanmar culture via a presentation.

In the afternoon, time to visit Pyay, a former trading location along the shore of Ayeyarwady River. Here, you will explore Shwesan-Daw Pagoda to know more about the religions in Myanmar, then continue head toward Shwe Daung village to contemplate a Buddha Statue wearing glasses.

 

Day 02 Thayet Myo

Rise up early and sip a glass of tea or coffee on the sundeck before joining in an excursion on a horse carriage to Thayet Myo. This is a historical mark in Burmese history as it was a border line between Royal Burmese North and the British. You will be transferred back to the cruise and spend the afternoon at your leisure. Either enjoy the library, visit the bar for nice cocktails or simply sunbathing on the deck.

A cooking class which features 2 iconic dishes in Myanmar will begin in the evening. You will learn how to make Lahpet Thoke – green tea leaf salad and Gin Thoke – ginger salad – with an experienced chef.

 

Day 03 Minhla

Enjoy the breakfast in the morning and start today’s adventure in Minhla, a fortress built by an Italian to help Burmese King to prevent the British troops marching from the South. Return to Makala Queen to regain your energy through the A La Carte meal. Then, visit the “Dragon Volcano” and continue the excursions by bus to Myat Thalon Pagoda, located in Magwe. Contemplate the beautiful scenery as the sun slowly kisses the horizon before head back to the cruise. After enjoying your pre-dinner drinks and A La Carte Dinner, sit down and watch a very interesting movie called The Lady, retelling the life of Aung Suun Suu Kyi ( a famous female politician in Myanmar).

Day 04 Magwe

Wake up in the refreshing morning, have breakfast and travel around Magwe city on an iconic transportation in Myanmar, local rickshaw. From traditional techniques of a local blacksmith to the bustling Burmese Market, you will be taken throuhg various customs and culture in the country.

You will be transfered back to the cruise and spend the afternoon at your leisure. Either enjoy the library, visit the bar for nice cocktails or simply sunbathing on the deck. After dinner, the cruise is glad to bring you a presentation from a local farmer, allowing you to understand more about the exotic fruits and vegetable in Myanmar. Afterward, the traditional medical treatment will be shown through a medical practitioner before you rest for the day.

 

Day 05 Bagan

After one night floating on Ayeyarwady River, wake up while being on the way to ancient capital Bagan. For the day, you will have a chance to contemplate the land of religious in Myanmar withe over 3000 temples and stupas. Known as one of the largest archaeological sites in South East Asia, Bagan offers numerous ancient attractions in the morning. Afterward, return the cruise for lunch before the tour guide answers any question regarding the royal capital Bagan. 

Proceed the trip with Makara Queen with a hearty dinner made from fresh organic products in the region. Your night will be completely filled with an intriguing Burmese Puppet Show. Watch the skillful hands of the performers controlling the puppet while live music is played.

 

Day 06 Yandabo

Rise up in the morning and enjoy a glass of coffee or tea before visiting the international restaurant for the buffet lunch. After soaking in the rooftop swimming pool, it is time that you travel to Shwe Pyi Village, one of the highlights of today’s trip. Here, you can relax in the peaceful atmosphere while watching the life of local people. This is also the place where the Makara Queen contribute charity work for the community. 

Makara Queen will bring you through the confluence of Chindwin and Ayeyarwady rivers. Then after lunch, Yandabo Village, a village famous for making pottery from river clay, will be yours to discover. Explore not only that traditional art from local people but also the Yandabo Treaty marking the end of the war between British East India Company and Royal Burmese Household of Ava.

 

Day 07 Sagaing

A nice buffet will be served before your religious and culture exploration begins in Sagaing Hills. In the mind of Burmese, Sagaing is a sacred capital in the region that has a huge number of monasteries and other important relics. First, you will visit Sun-U-Ponnya-Shin Pagoda, located on the top of Sagaing Hills. Then, you will board a horse cart and venture to Ava, the ancient imperial city, to visit Mingun Pagoda in the afternoon. It is an unfinished monument stupa in Mingun and there is a very interesting reason which can be asked from the tour guide. In this last evening, delectable cocktails will be served, and continue with a gala dinner as a farewell feast for passengers.

Day 08 Mandalay

Early in the morning, you will return to Makara for a fresh drink in the morning on the deck. Then, proceed to an international buffet for breakfast and listening to a historical expert on the rich history of Buddhism in the country. 

Bid farewell to the crew and the cruise and disembarking to continue your journey in the magnificent Myanmar.

RV Makara Queen Cruise Policy

1. If there is any changes regarding schedule, itinerary or times, RV Makara Queen will change at short notice. The cruise reserves the right to cancel or pospone up to 30 days before departure. Whenthe water level is too high or low, passengers will be offerd with alternative itinerary.

2. All quoted prices, invoices and receipts will be given in US dollar.

3. 10 percen service charge and 5 per cent government tax will not be include in all rates.

4. Passengers will take the responsibility for loss of baggage, money, and other personal items.

5. The cruise has the right to introduce a fuel surcharge whenever there is an increase in fuel price during the trip.

6. It is recommended for elderly clients and pregnant travelers to consult their doctor to ensure they are fit to travel.

7. The manager and the crew will try their best to ensure that there is no change happens because of weather, mechanical difficulties or unexpectied situations.

8. The policies is apply for both direct bookings and bookings through sales agents.

9. 30 days prior to departure time, cruise tickets must be issued. Passengers will not allow to board the cruise without the ticket.

10. Bookings cancelled because of extreme weather will not be refunded.

11. All passengers are required to board the cruise at least 30 minutes before departure.
