Lunch will be served on board as the ship makes its way to Pakkoku - a small trading town of Pakkoku located on the western riverbank of the Ayeyarwady. From the distance, you can see Pakokku Bridge - the longest bridge of Myanmar.

Once reaching the shore, you will enjoy an excursion to some of the small industries in the region including a cheroot-rolling factory and a producer of ‘Burmese slippers’. The handicraft plays an important role in the lives of local vendors. After that, move onto a boisterous market to get a true glimpse of local trading activities. One of the most famous products in Pakokku is the production of Tobacco. So this is a great place to buy some Burmese cigars.

Head back to board for lunch as the ship continues sailing to the highlight of your journey- Mandalay. In the early afternoon, the ship arrives in Mandalay.

As the sun casts its last rays over the region, it is the most special time of the day to take in the breathtaking views over the river when everything immerses in a golden light. Be ready for the evening event of “A toast to the past” during a British club where you can share some stories of Burma in old days. Dinner is served at the Hintha Hall. If you wish, you could join our open air cinema on the sun deck to see classic movies. (depends on weather conditions).

Enjoy breakfast on board as the ship crosses over the confluence of the Ayeyarwady and its fascinating tributary of Chindwin River.

The ship then approaches at the sleepy riverside village of Yanderbo. The village was once an important place where the Treaty of Yanderbo was signed marking the end of the First Anglo-Burmese war. It is now famous for its pottery products all over the country. You will be explained how the pots here could keep water cooler than pots from aother places in the country.

Enjoy a leisurely walk to explore the village. You can easily see that the villagers here are too frienly and open to interact with visitors. It is interesting to observe the unique techniques and skills to make various pots used by skillful hands of the locals. Try your hands to make one of these beautiful pots.

Return to the ship for a fabulous lunch buffet on board while the ship cruises northwards. Take your time to enjoy the timeless charm of the river from your bench on the sun deck or indulge yourself with a spa treatment is also a great experience you should try.

You are also offered a special chance to enjoy one of our various treatments in the Thanzin Spa before having dinner at the Hintha Hall.
