We start our excursion with the welcoming breakfast in a quiet garden of the oldest lacquerware workshop in Bagan. Lacquerware is an ancient craftsmanship which started since the first pagodas of Bagan built in the 11th century, and this ancient art is still continued even now. After that, we visit the Shwezigon Pagoda famous for its gold-leaf decorations, and the Ananda temple famous as being among the four significant temples in Bagan and among the Burmese most revered temples. We then travel to The Strand Cruise to check in and enjoy the lunch onboard.
Those who reach Bagan later will gather onboard. After settling in our cabins, we meet each other for lunch prepared by our Chef.
In the afternoon, we continue our excursion with the Bagan Heritage Trail, including the gorgeous Sulamani and Gubyaukgyi temple. During sunset, we will enjoy the glorious sceneries of Bagan and the Ayeyarwady from the Sundeck as we have a signature cocktail of the Strand Hotel. In the evening, we have a traditional Burmese cultural show before having dinner of Burmese cuisine in the restaurant.

In the early morning, we can have a morning tea, coffee, and pastries in the Sarkies Bar before our trip to Shwe San Daw temple and enjoy the sunrise over Bagan. The pagoda has a series of five terraces with the cylindrical stupa top which has a gemmed umbrella. From the pagoda’s top, we can enjoy the magnificent view of the entire Bagan.
Afterwards, we have a brunch in the restaurant as we sail upstream to Mandalay. The surrounding sceneries and typically villages besides Ayeyarwady are the inspiration for many authors and artists like Rudyard Kipling.
We spend an afternoon enjoying various activities as we cruise on the calm Ayeyarwady like meditation, relaxing on the Sundeck, activities, and workshops arranged by the crew, before having an afternoon tea.
In the evening, we stay the night near a remote section of the river. We will have cocktail and tapas dinner in Sarkies Bar, then enjoy a Burmese puppet show in the restaurant.
We also have additional activity on this day like Hot Air Balloon flight during sunrise over 2,000 pagodas in Bagan.

In the morning, have your breakfast then we disembark the ship to discover the ancient capital of Burmese kingdoms - Ava between 14th and 19th century via horse-carts. We will get to see the natural land of Ava and its key sites.
We spent the afternoon relaxing or taking part in various activities and workshops arranged by the staff like cooking presentation or introduction to traditional Burmese thanaka and longyi.

We start the morning with delicious breakfast then visit Burma’s 2nd biggest city – Mandalay, which is also Burma’s last royal capital. After offering traditional food to the monks in their monastery, we come to U Bein Bridge considered to be the world’s longest and oldest teak bridge.
Next, we move on to the Mahamui Buddha temple. It is fabled that the Buddha visited Arakan City in 554 by himself, then King Sanda Thuriya ordered to make a Buddha’s face and kept in the temple. Here, we also come to Shwe In Bin monastery before our return to The Strand Cruise.
We have a buffet lunch onboard, then arrive at Mingun, used to be the former capital of the country, and visit Myanmar’s largest, yet unfinished pagoda via tuk-tuk. This is where the great Mingun Bell held, also considered to be the biggest working bell in the world. Next, we travel to Paya Hsinbyume with seven curved terraces reflecting the seven mountain ranges of Mount Meru, a mountain at the Buddhist universe center.
Also, we moor overnight at Ava, then visit a remarkable temple nearby after the departed crowds, in the late afternoon until the next morning.
As our day come to the end, we have a sunset cocktail on the Sundeck, then have a French-style dinner in the restaurant.

STRAND CRUISE POLICY
1. Itinerary variation
Although we always try our best to provide services accordingly to what have been stated in your final plan, occasionally we might have to alter the arranged itineraries. If conditions make cruise routes unsuitable for navigation or raise sufficient doubt for navigation, we reserve the rights to alter the initial plan. Hence, the sailing routes and arrangements can be changed without notice. Any alteration in the cruise routes will not lead to the eligibility for a refund request or compensation claim. In case of uncontrollable events or delays, the passengers may have to pay for extra expenditures or losses caused by that beyond its control.
2. Fuel supplements
The Strand Cruise has the right to ask passengers to pay for a fuel supplement in case the price of fuel applied in the local increases. This charge is applicable to the days prior to and the sailing date itself. The supplement amount will be collected basing on the number of people and be applicable at the booking time, in advance of the departure date even if the applicable fare has been fully paid.
3. Reservations & Payment
At the booking time, you are required to make a non-refundable deposit of 30% of the total charge as a confirmation of your reservation on The Strand Cruise. The remaining amount must be paid within 70 days in advance of the cruise’s departure date.
If you make your reservation within 95 days prior to the departure date, you are required to make full payment at the booking time. If you fail to make the payment on the due date, your reservation will be canceled.
4. Booking Changes & Cancellation of reservation
Under the circumstance that you have to cancel your trip, you should notify us in writing. We will regard the date of receiving your notice in writing as the date of cancellation performance. The followings are certain charges for cancellation after you have made deposit or final payment.
If you cancel 95 days or more prior to departure, you will be charged 30% of the total fare
If you cancel 55 to 94 days prior to departure, you will be charged 55% of the total fare
If you cancel less than 55 days prior to departure or don’t show, you will be charged 100% of the total fare.
* When calculating the refund for your cancellation, we will deduct the wire fees and credit card commissions.
5. Cancellation of Departure
The Strand Cruise reserves the right to call off, revise or delay and sailing date and route. We will notify the passengers of any alterations at least 55 days in advance of the departure. In case a cruise is canceled completely, we will fully refund the amount paid for the cruise to passengers with confirmed bookings.
6. Force majeure
In the event of unpredictable or unavoidable situations, beyond our controlling capability, including but not limited to the event of war, civil or political unrest, strikes, catastrophes, epidemics, adverse river conditions or disruption to fuel supplies to the vessel, the Strand Cruise may cancel the trip and make a full refund of all the payment made by the passengers. However, if the cruise is canceled due to the above force majeure circumstances after the start of that cruise period, no refund will be made and the company will bear no liability for making compensation.
7. Travel Documentation & Insurance
The passengers have to ensure that they have necessary documentations to travel to Myanmar and sufficient travel insurance for their trip. The passengers must bring a passport valid for at least six (6) months after their scheduled leaving from Myanmar. The passengers must verify and obtain a visa to enter Myanmar themselves. If you fail to obtain visa, your cancellation fees will not be waived under the circumstance that you want to cancel your trip. The Strand Cruise shall bear no responsibility or liability for the delay or missed portioned of any cruise because of invalid travel documentation.
8. Child Policy
The Strand Cruise allows children of six year olds and older to share a cabin with their parent(s). The active land expeditions and the atmosphere on board are not appropriate for younger children. For children older than 12, a private cabin is required. The parents must supervise their children all the time and be responsible for their safety. There are no child-care or babysitting services on board.
9. Health Services and Medical Requirements
The cabins and public areas on The Strand Cruise are allocated over its four decks, and unluckily, there is no lift connecting the decks for passengers with limited mobility. Therefore, those who want to take the cruise must have a well-functioned body. When the passengers confirm their bookings, they also guarantee that they are physically fit and capable of complying with the rules and regulations on the ship and instructions of the crew.
